Have You Heard About The Hcg Alternative?
The latest buzz in the HCG community is about a new HCG alternative. However, though the product has been out only a short time, it has not gotten many positive reviews. On close examination, this would seem to be expected. Not only does the product cost more, it contains no genuine HCG whatsoever.
What Is It?
The manufacturer has created a proprietary compound known as Alt-hCG rM. This is essentially an artificial version of the hormone. Now, artificial hormones are not completely unknown to the medical profession; “bio-identical” hormones are used to treat some of the symptoms of menopause. Big agricultural corporations use them in meat and dairy products as well, which is a source of serious controversy.
The manufacturer claims that the artificial HCG acts as a “bio-identical” hormone in the treatment of obesity, breaking down adipose fat deposits the same way and regulating the hypothalamus – which as you know, is the purpose of genuine HCG when taken in conjunction with Dr. Simeons’ protocol.
The promotional literature also claims that their product is actually better than the real thing, because it does not cause the same “hormonal spikes.” This issue is why the FDA “opposes” the use of real HCG in the treatment of obesity. (This is not actually true. The fact is that the FDA simply hasn’t approved HCG for this purpose.)
What is most disturbing is the failure on the part of this company to stand behind its product. They refuse to offer refunds should the product fail to perform as promised, and accept returns only on unopened bottles – for which they charge a whopping 25% “restocking fee.”
Why Won’t The FDA Approve HCG For Weight Loss?
HCG has been approved for use in fertility treatments for decades. When injected into otherwise healthy adults, it can stimulate the production of eggs in the female and sperm in the male. (Note: if you are having difficulty in conceiving, do not try this at home: consult a licensed fertility specialist.)
When used as a weight loss remedy, HCG is being used “off-label.” This is something that doctors do all the time: it is simply the practice of using a medicine for something other than what it was designed to do, and is generally quite safe and effective.
If you have ever taken tetracycline for acne, you have used a medication “off label,” since this drug is basically an anti-biotic. There’s very little to worry about when using genuine HCG for weight loss according to instructions.
